Anika Cooking Class School
In the Anika Cooking Class, your instructor accompanies you to the traditional Kuta market to explain the herbs, spices and culture surrounding food. Embark on a culinary journey as you prepare nine dishes using authentic Bali techniques and utensils and enjoy lunch based on your creations.
Balinese cooking is a creative process that is simple and a lot of fun. In Anika Balinese Cooking Class, you will learn the techniques and become familiar with the fresh herbs, spices, and other ingredients that make Balinese food delightfully tasty as well as nutritious and cleansing. Over the day, you will learn how to pick out the ingredients at a traditional market, then explore different ways to blend and balance the varied flavors to create a stimulating array of unique tastes.

At 7am, you will be picked up at your place/hotel, then make the first stop at the Kuta traditional market, where you will learn about a range of herbs and spices, local culinary culture and how to pick out the ingredients. After the one-hour market visit, enjoy traditional breakfast dishes and snacks before continuing on with the cooking session.
The instructor will explain details of every traditional ingredient that will be used in the cooking, then start preparing each dish by using traditional techniques and utensils. Together, you will have nine main dishes and one dessert.
The morning class is followed by lunch based on the prepared dishes and accompanied by traditional drinks (Hibiscus Tea and Balinese Rice Wine). Please note that there’s no market visit in the afternoon session.
